Description

This study investigated the relationship between the Big-Five Factor personality traits, risky sexual behavior, and pornography consumption. An online survey was completed by undergraduate students recruited from psychology courses (N = 337). Results show a modest positive correlation between extraversion and risky sexual behaviors, but no correlation between extraversion and pornography consumption. Researchers also found that participants with high scores on the openness scale. Understanding these relationships may support the production and implementation of educational and preventative programming to decrease engagement in risky sexual behavior and limit negative outcomes for those at greater risk.
