As educators, fulfilling the promise of play means sharing our love and knowledge of play with our students. This presentation is a collection of self-study research chronicling the journeys of two pre-service teachers as they examine their own pedagogy and attempts to assimilate play-based learning into their student teaching placements. Evelyn Atwood will be detailing her incorporation of playful transitions into her preschool placement. Emily Lepore will explore student engagement as a result of gamification and game-based learning in a fourth grade classroom.
