Description

Interactions between romantic relationship status, personality traits, and attachment style were investigated in this study. Research was conducted via an online survey administered by Qualtrics and data were collected through self-report methods. Results showed those who never have been in a relationship showed heightened association with anxious attachment styles, avoidant attachment styles, and low levels of extraversion. Those who have been in a relationship or were in one at the time of the survey reported heightened levels of extraversion, as well as more secure attachment styles. These results imply that individuals who present extraverted personality traits and secure attachment styles may have more success in pursuing romantic relationships.
